Inspire the next generation of rangers
At GRI’s Wildlife Discovery Centre, we aim to make a significant long-term contribution to the protection of wildlife and wild spaces by showcasing Zambia’s natural wealth, increasing environmental awareness and inspiring greater conservation stewardship. A hub of environmental activities, the Centre provides local employment opportunities, facilitates greater collaboration between conservation partners, and supports the regeneration of Lusaka National Park.
As well as welcoming local and international visitors, each day we invite 25 children and 2 accompanying teachers from local schools to participate in a Discovery Day - an interactive and immersive learning experience at the Wildlife Discovery Centre. Our dedicated Conservation Education Rangers lead the students in their exploration of our interactive Conservation Huts; guide them on an exclusive nature walk in the National Park, support their observations of the orphaned elephants and transport them through four of Zambia’s rich ecosystems as they delve into the multi-sensory habitat exhibits in our Explorertorium.
By sponsoring a day at GRI’s Wildlife Discovery Centre you will be supporting an entire team of dedicated conservationists and support workers, empowering vulnerable women, engaging local communities, and providing much-needed conservation education to local children.
